Got Treats?

One of my favorite new sets in the catalog has to be GOT TREATS. I don't even have the Big Shot Milk Carton Die (yet). Here are the images in the stamp set (All images copyright Stampin' Up!)

I just love the gingerbread man and the pumpkin! Here is one of the first cards I made with this set:

For this card, I used the new In-Color Peach Parfait card stock and the reintroduced Tangerine Tango card stock and ink as well as the Peach Parfait 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon – which is FABULOUS to work with. Two other new items used on this card – the bat punch and the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch. Do you want to get some of that ribbon? Why not order some from my product share?

Branch Out Card

I demonstrated this card at a Technique Tuesday event. This technique is called sponged landscape. The effect is simply lovely! All it takes is sponges, inkpads, and torn pieces of scrap paper!

Branch Out is one of the stamp sets on the dormant list. I love this stamp set!

Sock Monkey-Rubber Thwamping Technique

One of the techniques I taught at this week’s Technique Tuesday class was called Rubber Thwamping. Interesting name…very fun and unusual technique. Here is the card we made using Sock Monkey/Sock Monkey Accessories plus Teeny Tiny Wishes:

I love using household items in my stamping – and this technique fits the bill!

For this technique, you will need:

Plastic or laytex gloves (if you don’t have these on hand, you can also use plastic sandwich bags)
Dry goods item like pasta, rice, or beans
Inkpad(s) and Card Stock

Put the dry goods into a glove or plastic bag. Make sure the air is out of it. Ink up the glove or bag in one inkpad and then pounce all over the card stock! It really is that easy. It may be best to have one bag per color, but I did find that with the plastic bags, it was very easy to clean off the excess ink. At my event, I did use the laytex gloves – made it seem a little bit "ghoulish"!

Different dry goods leave different marks. I inked Elegant Eggplant with rotini pasta – and inked Pumpkin Pie with white rice. I made lots of fun samples too!

2009 World Card-Making Day

Happy World Card-Making Day! Last night, some of my favorite stampers came to my home and made several cards in honor of this "holiday". We had such a fun time! Here is one of the cards they stamped last night! This card will also be featured at some of my upcoming workshops!

Today it is rainy and chilly in Wisconsin – perfect weather for making (and don’t forget SENDING) cards. I have been a bit remiss myself in sending out birthday remembrances, anniversary wishes, and other cards. Why should I wait until January 1st for a resolution! I am promising to get all my October cards made and addressed this weekend.

I also have to upload about one hundred more cards to my new gallery. I hope my camera battery can take it!

Halloween Card-Goblin Faces

Here is one of the cards I made with the new Pumpkin Patch and Grateful Greetings stamp sets. I was listening to Vince Guaraldi music (Charlie Brown soundtrack composer and fabulous jazz musician), and this card concept popped into my head. Hope you like it!

Fall Card

Although the weather in Wisconsin isn’t cooperating, it is time to start posting fall projects. Fall is probably my favorite time of year – the changing colors of the trees and the crunch of leaves underfoot.

Branch Out is one of our dormant stamp sets. I love the tree all by itself. Here is one of the cards I recently made with this set.

The tree is embossed with Gold Glory EP. I have had the clear buttons for years, but I just don’t seem to grab them when finishing a project. I need to use them more often!
