Stamper Birthday Party Thank You Card

I turned the big 5-0 this year, and my stamp campers surprised me with a party at my last stamping event of the year!  It was a super fun evening, and I was touched by their thoughtfulness.

Of course, I had to send them thank yous!  Here is the one I came up with:

Lighhearted Leaves Woodland Card

I really love this color combination – Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, and Delightful Dijon.  The stamp set is Lighthearted Leaves, and I used the Leaves framelits and the so popular Woodlands embossing folder.  Wish that folder was staying in the catalog!!!

Thanks, ladies.  I was so surprised!

Howl-O-Ween Treat Card

Can you take one more Howl-O-Ween Treat card?  I absolutely love that owl!  Here is a card I created using up some of my Happy Haunting DSP and some of the little gems.  I colored them black with a Sharpie marker and centered them in the polka dots.

Quick and Easy Halloween Card

Hello all!

I am posting one of my quick and easy Halloween cards today.  The background is from You’ve Got This and the phrase is from Howl-o-ween Treat.  I created the edge of the focal point piece with the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch.  Attached a spider trail by using a Project Life marker.

Watch for more ideas this weekend.  I’m addressing my Halloween cards today as I have a busy week ahead.

Halloween Punch Art Black Cat

Every year, I teach a Fall and Winter Holiday Punch Art class.  It is one of my best-attended classes of the year.  2015 was no different.  I do at least one Halloween card, one Thanksgiving card, and usually two Christmas cards.

This year’s Halloween card featured a black cat – super easy to create using some basic punches:

The background circles are the 2-1/2″ circle.  One was from the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper selection (love it).

Here is what you need to make the cat:

extra large oval punch

1-3/4″ circle punch

1″ circle punch

medium star punch

To make the body of the cat, punch out part of the extra large oval onto a piece of basic black card stock.  Then take the 1-3/4″ circle punch and punch out part of the circle from the already punched card stock.

To make the tail of the cat, use the punch to create a half oval with the extra large oval punch on a piece of basic black card stock.  Then punch again right on top of on the same card stock that has already been punched (not the punched out piece) to create a large sliver of a moon.  That’s your tail!

The ears were punched from a medium star and then trimmed for the two peaks.  Face was the 1″ circle punch.  Added some scissor-cut whiskers and pearls for the eyes.  Of course, popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

The phrase is from Happy Scenes – one of the most popular stamp sets in the 2015 Holiday Catalog!

Boo to You!

We are finally feeling some fall weather after an unseasonably warm September.  Today’s card features products from the Holiday Catalog – Boo to You Framelits, Happy Scenes stamp set, Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper, and Black Glitter Paper.

This designer series paper is perfect for coloring!  Love those cute ghosts!  I’ve taught how to make bats out of butterflies before – they are super easy.  The gravestone is from one of the new tags framelits – just added some sponging to age it.  BLACK GLITTER PAPER – LOVE IT!!!  That word in the Boo to You framelit set is worth the price alone!

Talk Like a Pirate Day Card

Talk Like a Pirate Day – believe it or not, it is the 20th Anniversary of this holiday!  It all began in 1995 with two guys deciding on the date while playing racquetball.  If you want more details, check out this web page – http://www.talklikeapirate.com/about.html

So, I decided to create a card just for the occasion.  I love the new Black Glitter Paper and the Howl-O-Ween Treat stamp set and Boo to You Framelits – they worked perfectly for this card!

Welcome September Leaves

Oh, September.  You are here.  My favorite season is upon us.  I can officially start baking with pumpkin and decorate with gourds and leaves.

The new products in the Stampin’ Up! holiday catalog are now available.  I created this the other day; what do you think?

STAMPIN' UP HOLIDAY CATALOG-RYAN

Well, speaking of the new holiday catalog, why not show off a stamping creation?  Here is one of my favorite samples of the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set.  Colors used are Mossy Meadow, Rich Razzleberry, and thick White Card Stock.  I embossed the images in gold, and then used the new Leaflets framelits and Tags and Labels framelits to cut out the phrase and the leaf.  The Into the Woods Designer Series Paper is simply gorgeous.  You will covet this paper!  But don’t forget, you can always get more so USE IT!!!  Embellishments included designer and antique buttons, the banner punch, and the new Into the Woods cotton ribbon.

An Open Heart Thank You Card

Trying a new color combination is pretty easy to do when you have such a wealth of gorgeous colors as in the Stampin’ Up! line of inks/card stock.  I am loving this combo – Island Indigo and Early Espresso with the gold glimmer paper.  Striking, masculine (but not overly), and inspired by Autumn.

Sometimes, mailing cards with lots of embellishments is disastrous – either the envelope gets ripped, postage gets expensive, or the embellishment gets mutilated.  It really doesn’t happen too often, but it is also good to have a quick and easy go-to alternative.  I love polka dots in almost any form.  Creating glitter circles is super quick, cheap, and fuss-free plus it adds just enough wow to a card.
