Welcome to the blog of Jane Hignite, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Double-Dip Embossed Harry Potter Hat

Thank you for hopping today with us, “Hopping Just for the Fun of it”. The theme of this blog hop is Fall and Halloween projects.  If you are hopping along with us, you came from Stop #9,Kris Kilkenny's blog –  Paper Fairy .

Today's card features the witch's hat from Jack of All Trades. When I first looked at this stamp set in the catalog, I knew I had to make a Harry Potter themed card from it! This is my Sparkly Sorting Hat card.

Jack of All Trades-Spooky Hat

Last month, I taught my stampers how to do the double-dip embossing technique.  It is a great way to add some sparkle to your embossing!  I added a small amount of Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder to my Black Embossing Powder.  Be sure to mix well.

To create the black swirls (or dementor effect), all I did was rub some StazOn on my glossy white card stock.  The "spooky" phrase comes from the Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set!

The month of October is filled with fun reasons to stamp – be sure to check out my monthly listing at the top of my blog.  Today is World Card-Making Day!   Stampin' Up!'s October special is perfect for those looking for quick and easy card-making projects.  Purchase two Simply-Sent card kits to receive the coordinating stamp set for FREE!

2011-oct-promo_na_02

October is my Stampin' Up! anniversary.  This year, I'm celebrating my 11th year as a demonstrator – a job I truly LOVE.  I am offering 5 different specials to my customers throughout the month of October – the first one is 11% off any punch in the catalog!  (I'm hosting a Fall and Winter Holiday Punch Class this Tuesday.)  This special is available through October 9th.

The next stop on the Blog Hop is Amanda Harbison's blog, Life Is…. I am sure you will enjoy her project this month. If you should happen to get lost anywhere thru the hop, you can go to the main blog, Hopping Just for the Fun of It.

Want some information on these packs?

Sharing card samples with my customers is a great way to increase my business and jumpstart customer and personal creativity. I found this system and knew it was a perfect solution for showcasing and protecting my samples. Besides stamp set-specific packs, I usually have several packs dedicated to techniques (such as embossing or bleaching) or holiday themes. This is the card sampler sleeve pack system I use and sell to my sideline, downline, and customers. I have many happy demos on my customer list! These packs make great downline gifts too!

Even if you are not a demonstrator, these sleeves come in handy to protect your favorite samples!

The roomy and sturdy sleeves hold the most embellished cards and protect card samples from handling. When the new catalog comes out, it is a breeze to switch out cards and reuse the sleeves!  I continue to use packs I've had for over 10 years!

You can also easily store your Big Shot Embossing Folders in these packs.

Each pack includes 25 hole-punched sleeves and an “O” ring for 50 viewable samples.

In case you are not the winner this time around, here are the details to purchase some of these packs for yourself!

I accept Paypal and Money Orders only. My paypal id is stampwithjane@charter.net

2010-2011 Catalog Retirement Lists

June 1st is finally here!  You can check out the stamp set, accessory, and Definitely Decorative retirements lists by clicking on the image on the top right column.

Woo Hoo!  Lovely as a Tree is still with us!  I was getting my black armband ready just in case!

Grand total – I lost 29 stamp sets…but some I have had for many years.  Probably the one I'll miss the most is Autumn Harvest as it could be both beautiful and sweet (when you added the face to the pumpkin).

What hurts – all the gorgeous ribbon, the Sizzix items, and the punches (I'll miss my oval punch and bitty bat punch the most!) that are being retired.  I know we will be seeing lots of new items in the July catalog, but it does make you sad to see them go!

What stamp sets are you sad to see go?

Stamp Set Retirement List Guessing Game

There is just over 1 week left to sign up to receive my Catalog Coupon book when you preorder a 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog from me.  You will still be able to order a catalog after May 31st – however, you won't receive one of my fabulous coupon books

For some extra fun, I'm offering an added incentive to order a catalog from me – pick 15 stamp sets from the current catalog (cannot include any hostess sets, mini catalog sets, or SAB sets) you think will retire.  Email me your list of 15 stamp sets prior to Tuesday, May 31st at 6:00 pm.  I will be drawing two winners -

  1.  The stamper who guesses the most correct retiring stamp sets
  2.  A random winner from all entries
WHAT WILL THE WINNERS WIN???

Both winners will receive the new catalog and coupon book for FREE!!!!!

Here are the rules:

  1. All entries must be received by email prior to Tuesday, May 31st at 6:00 pm.  The ONLY exception is if you are attending my Technique Tuesday class.  You may hand-deliver your list that evening when you arrive.
  2. You must preorder an upcoming catalog from me.  I charge $5.00 for the catalog and coupon book – shipping to your home is extra.
  3. No hostess sets, mini-catalog sets, or SAB sets can be on the list.
  4. No duplication is allowed (you cannot enter "Lovely as a Tree" 15 times!)  LOL!
  5. Stamp sets only – no wheels, no accessories, no Decor Elements items.
  6. If there is a tie, the tie-breaker will be the stamper who submitted their guess first.
  7. Only one entry per person.
  8. Current Stampin' Up! demonstrators are not eligible to play or win.

*Did you know?
Even if you plan on hosting a workshop in 2011-2012 (which usually earns you a free catalog), it is a great idea to preorder a catalog.  I always reimburse my hostesses with another item if they already own a current catalog.

Sail Away Gift Scrapbook

May is National Scrapbooking Month!  I love making small gift scrapbooks, and this one I demonstrated at my downline meeting last month.

Sail Away Dad Gift Scrapbook

I used my Sizzix Big Shot Alphabet (Timeless Type) and Brushed Silver card stock to make the "DAD".  I have to be honest – I never knew about Baker's Twine until I saw the new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog!  I love it!  A perfect touch for this project!

I used the smoosh inkpad and Aquapainter watercoloring method on the sailboat image.

Inside the scrapbook covers are Stampin' Up! clear envelopes – it is the quickest way to make a gift scrapbook!  You can just slide in pictures or mini pages in the scrapbook!

In honor of National Scrapbooking Month, I will be posting a customer special and scrapbook idea every Wednesday this month.  This week's special is:

Purchase any alphabet stamp set valued at $19.95-$47.95  (pages 159-162) or Sizzix alphabet valued up to $47.95(pages 207 and 212) and receive your choice of Basic Rhinestones or Basic Pearls (a $4.95 value).  If you purchase the Sizzix Alphabet Simple Letters,Timeless Type, or Go Go Boots you will receive TWO of your choice.

Purchase the Serif Essentials Alphabet and you can be your own hostess!  I'll include THREE Rhinestones or Pearls or a $14.85 voucher for something of your choosing!  Plus you'll earn exclusive hostess-only stamp sets and $15.00 hostess merchandise.  It's like getting double the hostess merchandise!

Pleasse contact me if you would like to place an order!

Love Bug Scrapbook Kit

I'm so excited to share this kit!  My Stamper's 10 group made this project last month, and it was a huge hit!  I am also making one for my adorable niece, Katie, who I always call Katie Bug!

Lovebug Scrapbook Front

Lovebug Scrapbook Back

This scrapbook would be great for a special gift – just add photos and you are all set!

I have had many of my customers ask for a kit and some preferred for me to make it.  So I am happy to offer both options!

Completed Scrapbook

The completed scrapbook can be personalized.  For instance, if you want a name on the front cover instead of "Love", I'll be happy to include a name with up to 6 letters on the front.  If you want it personalized, please include the name you'd like on the cover with your payment.

There are 5 inside blank pages included (red and black).  I will include some sparkly hearts in various sizes for accents on your finished pages.

I can ship completed scrapbooks within 3 days of payment.

Scrapbook Kit

The scrapbook kit comes with all the materials you need to create the project.

All punched items will be punched, but not adhered to anything.

You will receive instructions via email with color pictures after payment has been made and kit has been shipped.

The scrapbook kit can also be personalized; however, the pieces will not be adhered to anything.

There are 5 blank inside pages included (red and black). I will include some sparkly hearts in various sizes for accents on your finished pages.

I can ship the kits out within 2 days of payment.

Scrapbook Tutorial

The scrapbook tutorial will be sent as an attachment via email within 1 day of payment.  The tutorial has full-color pictures, a supply list, and step-by-step instructions.

You may not resell the tutorial to any downline, demo groups, or customers.

If you are local to West Bend, Wisconsin, you may choose the local pickup option.  The kits can only be shipped to addresses in the United States.
