Even an Elephant Sometimes Forgets
Having a thriving stamping business can sometimes put you in a tailspin, and this is something I have to deal with. When trying to keep business(es), family, and home happy, prioritizing is imperative. Sadly, my blog has suffered the most this last year (or a little more than a year).
For I believe I totally forgot that today was my 6th anniversary of this current blog. Last year I should have done something special for a major milestone of 5 years; alas, that didn’t happen. So let’s celebrate 5+1, ok? Don’t tell the blog gods I messed up AGAIN.
I’m known for my love of punch cards and punch card classes. Animal Adventures is now part of my summer repertoire…and because I “ALMOST” forgot, here’s my Edwina the Elephant!

Zoo Babies – Rubber Band Alligator Card
I recently participated in a technique swap with one of my online stamping groups. I created this fun birthday card using the rubber band brayer technique. It is such a fun and easy way to make a background!
Here’s how you do it:
- Find several rubber bands – better results with a variety of widths
- Wrap the bands around a rubber brayer
- Ink up the bands over an inkpad and roll on a piece of card stock
- Reapply ink and go over it in another direction
I used a neutral (Very Vanilla) card stock, but you can use colored card stock too for a tone-on-tone look.
I colored the gems using Blendabilities markers.
The arrow is from the new What’s Up! punch!

Zoo Babies Hello Alligator Card
See ya later, alligator? Not today – we’re saying “hello” instead! This is a swap card I made over the summer with one of my favorite returning colors, Pear Pizzazz. I do love to combine Pear Pizzazz with Early Espresso and Very Vanilla…yum, sounds like dessert!
Ok, now you can say it – see you later, alligator!

Zoo Babies Midnight Giraffe
Well, the kids are back at the zoo, I mean school. Just kidding of course. I’ve still got a little “stamp crush” on Zoo Babies. This time, I paired the giraffe with Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, and Garden Green. Such a simple card but great to have in your card stash for babies, birthdays, and other celebrations.
