Monochromatic Monday – Blushing Bride Cupcake

My first Monochromatic Monday starts with Blushing Bride.  I usually pair this color with Chocolate Chip or Early Espresso.  Keeping it to Blushing Bride and Whisper White was a challenge, but I really liked the results.

I used the brand-new stamp set, Sweet Cupcake, with the coordinating framelits, Cupcake Cutouts.  This is one of the few three-step stamp sets which is gaining popularity.  For the frosting, I actually stamped off once for the base image, and then stamped full strength for the next two stamps.  The color variation looked perfect when I did this.

The “sweet” and the edge swirl are both framelits.  Our new detail glue is wonderful to attach these pieces to cardstock.

I have been somewhat addicted to our Basic Pearls lately.  I thought the pearls softened the edges.

Splattered Glitter Glue Technique

I taught this technique at my last Technique Tuesday class, and it was a huge hit.  Who doesn’t LOVE glitter?  It is the applying of it that kind of drives us all crazy.

I found a new method of getting glitter on a card – the splattered glitter glue technique.

What you need for this technique is Tombow Multipurpose Glue, Aquapainters filled with water, a deli lid or a empty stamp case lid, and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  This technique works best with a prestamped/precolored image.

  • On the deli lid/stamp case lid, squeeze out some glue and dilute it with water until it makes a milkier liquid.
  • Wet the tip of the Aquapainter with water and then dip it in the glue liquid.
  •  Tap out the glue all over the stamped image in a splattered pattern.  Try not to get too close – this tends to leave glue “blobs” not glue “splatters”.
  • Pour Dazzling Diamonds over the card stock and tap off excess.  Let dry and attach to card base.
  • Add any embellishments.

Here is the card we made.  Yes, it is from Sale-A-Bration, but isn’t it so darn pretty?

Even an Elephant Sometimes Forgets

Having a thriving stamping business can sometimes put you in a tailspin, and this is something I have to deal with. When trying to keep business(es), family, and home happy, prioritizing is imperative.  Sadly, my blog has suffered the most this last year (or a little more than a year).

For I believe I totally forgot that today was my 6th anniversary of this current blog.  Last year I should have done something special for a major milestone of 5 years; alas, that didn’t happen.  So let’s celebrate 5+1, ok?  Don’t tell the blog gods I messed up AGAIN.

I’m known for my love of punch cards and punch card classes.  Animal Adventures is now part of my summer repertoire…and because I “ALMOST” forgot, here’s my Edwina the Elephant!

Happy Easter Bunny Punch Card

I just recently hosted a Spring Stamp A Stack.  This was one of my favorite cards!  Although not officially a “punch class” card, we did use a few punches with this card.

The heart framelit set was the main face piece.  We also used the XL oval punch, the bow builder punch, the 1/2 inch punch, word window punch, Project Life markers, the wedding DSP, and the polka dot embossing folder.

Here’s “hopping” you have a great week!

The white ribbon is new with this catalog – fits perfectly through the hole of the scallop tag punch.
