Label Framelits Tombstone Card

Oh, I couldn't wait to share this card!  We made at my Die Cut Diva Stamp Camp this week.  It is SUPER easy and perfect for a Halloween invitation!

Die Cut Diva-tombstone card

All you need to do is use our Labels Framelits with your Big Shot and only roll the die about halfway through.  Stop and roll back so as not to send the die completely through the machine.  Trim the edges with your cutter – or scissors if you are confident in your cutting skills :).

I spritzed the tombstone using our new Stampin' Spritzer (filled halfway with 90% rubbing alcohol and about 10 drops of Platinum shimmer paint).  It dries very quickly!  Stamp the spider and the Boooo from the Googlie Ghouls stamp set (in the Holiday Mini), and then stamp the bat and cut out and pop up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Add our new striped satin ribbon  (in the Holiday Mini), adhere the pieces, and you are all set.  You could easily add a phrase at the top for an invitation or even stamp RIP with an alphabet set.

Lovely as a Tree Direct to Paper Technique

When I created yesterday's card, I wanted to give a spookier feel to the trees, so I used the direct to paper technique for this card.  You can add as little or as much ink to the background as you desire!

This is a simple card – but don't you just love that Top Note die!

Midnight Raven Watercolor Wash

I just loved how this turned out – especially the cloud feathering look where the colors meet!  The skull is punched out from the Nite Owl DSP.  Watercolor Wash is a perfect technique to use with our Watercolor Paper.

Here's the directions to the watercolor wash technique:

  1. Pick out two or three dye ink refills.
  2. With a paint palette, put a couple of drops of dye reinker in the wells.
  3. With a small measuring spoon, add water drops to until you reach the desired color.
  4. Mist the Watercolor Paper to dampen the paper.
  5. With paintbrush or Aquapainter, apply watercolor wash.
  6. Brush piece and then set aside to dry.
  7. Stamp, emboss or use as a background.

Got Treats – Clean and Simple

When it comes to stamping, I know everyone loves to ohh and ahh over the blinged out.  However, sometimes clean and simple hits the mark.  This card uses the Got Treats stamp set and the Autumn Spice DSP with Early Espresso grosgrain ribbon and Vanilla brads.  Color combination is Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Early Espresso, and Cajun Craze…

Midnight Raven Glitter Halloween Card

At my Stamper's 10 meeting this week, my hostess requested a project using Stampin' Up!'s Heat & Stick powder.  This month was a Christmas theme…but I'm not ready to post Christmas cards on my blog YET.  So here is an example of heat and stick with our Fine Cosmos Glitter using Midnight Raven:

I'm hoping to post lots more Halloween cards this week – have to squeeze them in before next weekend's SUDSOL blog tour (I'm featuring Thanksgiving cards).
