Goblin Monster Punch Art

Today I am taking part of the SU Stars Inaugural Blog Hop!   You probably came from Courtney's blog.  If you want to start at the beginning, go HERE.

My Halloween-themed card uses some fabulous new products from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Today I am sharing my version of the Goblin Monster.

I used the new Spider Web Embossing Folder with my Big Shot, then I pounced some shimmer paint on top.  The Goblin Monster is made using the Scallop Punch once, then put on typing paper or a post-it-note and moving the punch midway over the first punch to create spikier hair!  Sponge the Pear Pizzazz pieces.  The eyeballs are 3/4" circle and 1/2" circles.  Legs and shoes are the Word Window punch.  White gel pen and Basic Black marker are also used.  I love the new Glitter Brads – and the new large 2-1/2" circle punch is great to use for a focal point on a card.  I also used the new Decorative Label Extra Large Punch for the phrase!

Shimmer Paint Techniques

I love the Shimmer Paints!  I think my favorite has to be the Shimmer Frost White – there is so much you can do with it!  For my Technique Tuesday class this month, I featured Shimmer Paint in two aspects of the card my stampers created.  First of all, we tinted the Shimmer Paint with Summer Sun dye ink refill (one of our retiring colors).  We then stamped the Upsy Daisy image on a cut-off Top note Die using the dyed paint as an "inkpad", set it aside, and let it dry.  Then we painted the dyed Shimmer Paint on the flower from the Pretties Kit.  WOW…so sparkly!
