Triple Fold Fun Birthday Card

Today’s my birthday so I thought it would be appropriate to steer away from the Thanksgiving and Fall-themed cards and celebrate on my blog!

Sketched Birthday Triple Fold Fun Card A

Sketched Birthday Triple Fold Fun Card B

Sketched Birthday Triple Fold Fun Card C

This card my stampers created a few month back at a Technique Tuesday class.  The technique is Triple Fold Fun – and it is truly a unique and fun card style.

Here are the instructions for the card:

Supplies

Scoring Tool or Simply Scoring Board

2-1/2” Circle Punch/Large Scallop Punch

Card Stock  – 11” x 4-1/4”

4” x 4” Designer Series Paper

4” x 4” Neutral Card Stock

Stamps/Inkpads

Stampin’ Dimensionals

Score 11” x 4-1/4” piece of card stock at 4”1/4” and 8-1/2”.

Big Shot/Embossing Folder (optional)

Latch Piece-cupcake, butterfly, or other?

  • Fold at score lines.  If you are going to emboss top section, do so at this point.  Be careful WHAT SIDE you emboss!
  •  Center the 2-1/2” circle punch over 4-1/4” score line – about ½” from the edge.  Punch out a circle (use it on another project).
  •  Punch scallop in matching color.  Stamp or embellish this focal point.  Adhere it ONLY on the bottom so it can peek out of the hole left by the circle punch out.
  •  Adhere DSP on front section and stamp or punch out a latch piece.
  • Important to pop the latch piece up with a dimensional on the bottom/center– leaving top section with NO adhesive so it can hold down but also let go of the top piece.

Embellished Events Baby Card

Babies…aren't they truly the best little packages?  I created this card a while ago with no baby in particular in mind.  Love the bling adorning the embossed edge…

Stampin’ Up! Spooktacular Sale

Hello all!

Well today is the day!  Stampin' Up! is offering 15% off all stamps (excluding hostess stamps, digital stamps, and stamps in a product bundle).

I am sweetening the deal with my customers for an additional 5% off!  You can shop online until 11:59 pm (it will get very busy at that time) or call me and place it before 9:00 pm.

I also thought I would post a bunch of recent class samples to get your creative juices going.  I'll be posting several times today so be sure to come back and see everything!

I really don't want the Halloween season to end because that would mean I would have to put away one of my all-time favorite stamp sets – Googlie Ghouls.  Oh, how I have loved this stamp set since it was introduced in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Here is one of my favorite cards made with this set –

Googlie Ghouls Trio

I used the Web embossing folder with some silver shimmer paint in the background.

For all those in Frankenstorm's path – stay safe.  We are all praying for you!

Big Shot Embossed Card and Card Holder Gift Set

Welcome to the first 2011 VC Rocks Bloghop…you've most likely arrived here from the home page – www.vcrocks.blogspot.com .  I am stop number 1!

The theme of this blog hop is using our BIG SHOT MADNESS.  The Big Shot has to be my favorite tool – it never leaves my stamping table!  The embossing folders are simple to use yet always striking in any project.

This week marked the end of the school year…so it was time to make some teacher thank you gifts.  My dear sister, Mary Jo, is an elementary school teacher and advises me on what teachers like/don't like for gifts.  She always raves about receiving my handmade cards so I think I have a winner in this project.

Elegant Lines Embossed Card Front 2

This simple yet elegant card used the Elegant Lines embossing folder, Naturals White card stock, Marina Mist 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (which is retiring), scissors, the Just Believe stamp set, Old Olive and Marina Mist inkpads, and the Extra-Large Oval and Decorative Label punches.

I used the leaf stamp and inked up with Old Olive, but first stamped off once.  I then stamped the thank you stamp "full strength" in Marina Mist.

For my gifts, I created 5 cards with matching envelopes (yes, I embossed the back flaps too – gorgeous!).  I then embossed an acetate card box and created a tag using our new Perfect Pennants die (it's probably my favorite item in the upcoming catalog) and the 1-3/4" circle punch.   I also used some retired silver stretch cord to attach the tag.

Here is the back of the box ~

Masculine Inlaid Embossed Folder Card

This card was made using the inlaid embossing technique.  The sprocket wheels make a great background for a masculine card.   I used Marina Mist and Night of Navy for my color combination.

Filled With Love Samples

I was hoping to have lots of time to make dozens of samples with one of my newer stamp sets.  Best-laid plans!  Oh well, I did want to share the few I did get stamped:

 filledwithlove-bundleitems

On this card, I used one of my leftover pieces of a waxed resist background and heat embossed the LOVE in Winter White.  Yes, I keep a stash of technique backgrounds at my stamping table.  When I am trying out a new background technique, I always get a few extra prepped so when I do have time to complete cards, I've got a variety of backgrounds to use.  In fact, sometimes the backgrounds lead me on my own little creativity journey!

The I heart YOU phrase is a new rub-on from Stampin' Up!.  The DSP is the Love Patterns DSP from the Filled With Love special.  I added the black glitter brads, but you could also use the free clear bitty buttons from the special as well.

filledwithlove-scallopcircle

This card uses our largest scallop circle die and embossed and sponged.  My camera didn't pick up the color very well – it is Pretty in Pink.  I'm very fond of this ribbon too!

filledwithlove-bingoblaster

Ok, I'm not 100% happy with this one.  I used the Bingo Blaster background technique which is fabulous…but I'm not keen on the layout.  I did like using my wide oval punch to back the Thought of you… phrase.  All I did was punch two and overlap.  I'm doing that quite a bit with my punches these days!

This special is going on through Monday, January 24th (it does end before Sale-A-Bration starts).  I will be placing an order on Saturday morning, but you can also shop online HERE

You can choose between wood mount  ($32.90 plus shipping and tax) or clear mount ($26.90 plus shipping and tax).  Here are the images:

There are 12 sheets total – three 12" x 12" sheets of two double-sided designs in Real Red and Pretty in Pink.

Midnight Raven Shimmer Paint Web

One of the new stamp sets from the Holiday Mini that was a "must have" for me was Midnight Raven…except I always call it Fright Night.  For this card, I used the new Spider Web embossing Folder, tore it a little, and added some shimmer paint to accent it.  Of course, I had to add a brushed silver bat too!

Tiny Teacup Card

In the new Stampin' Up! catalog are more one-stamp stamp sets!  Tiny Teacup is one of those stamps.  However, I knew I wanted to separate the teacup from the words.  So I made my one-stamp stamp set a two-stamp stamp set!  Thankfully, I have many extra wood blocks.  Here's the first card I made with it:

tiny-teacup-emb-folder

I used Cajun Craze card stock and  the Sizzix Big Shot Finial Press folder.  I tore the card stock and then rubbed Cajun Craze ink over it.  This gives the embossing more definition.

Hmm…I'm thinking a cup of Chai Tea would be perfect right now!
