Totally Trees Step It Up Saturday

I knew I wanted to share this step-it-up set of cards on World Card-Making Day.

The first card was a simple but lovely card created for the Fabulous Fall Stamp Camp.  We used the Totally Trees stamp set and the Rose Wonder stamp set for the phrase.  Also used for this card was the Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper (sorry, not one on sale), Layering Squares Framelits, and the Ribbon Trio Pack. We did double dip the inking of leaves on this card – start with the lightest color and before stamping lightly restamp into a darker color.

But even though I liked this card, I knew it was a perfect card to step up.

I added another vertical layer behind the DSP, tied a knot with ribbon, added three copper circles, and embossed both the phrase and the leaves on the tree.  Some very simple changes, but they really make this card pop.

Show me some love and subscribe to my blog.  At the end of October, I will review all new subscribers, and if they have ordered from me, I will put them into a random door prize drawing for a $10 gift certificate.

Celebrate Sunday – Wedding Card

Yeah, I know. I’ve been a bit out of the loop this week. I’ve been creating cards and such, but just haven’t had the chance to post anything. Sorry about that. I’ll work on getting more ready ahead of time.

Today’s post is a mix of old and new, even a little borrowed and blue: perfect for a wedding card. I attended a wedding reception this weekend of a coworker and downline member. I’ve been lucky enough to get to know this fabulous lady for several years. She has a fondness for butterflies, and she used Tempting Turquoise for her wedding colors.

The vellum is retired, but I couldn’t help using it as it was perfect for this card. I did use the new nesting oval framelits. I know I bemoaned Stampin’ Up! taking away our oval punches; I still miss them, but the variety in the framelit set is amazing. I couldn’t stash that many oval punches in my drawers!!!

Congratulations Martha and Chad!
