25 Days of Holiday Projects – Day 4
I’ve been thinking about this Advent Calendar project for over a year. I have many fond memories of my family taking part in the Advent Calendar tradition when I was a little girl.
I used a mini muffin tin with 24 holes. My husband drilled a hole in the top (the lip of the pan was too wide for my Crop-A-Dile).
I printed off a page of numbers in color. Using a snowflake from Snow Swirled, I stamped the starry-looking snowflake over the number in More Mustard. I used circle punches and Big Shot circle dies to cover the holes. I also cut circles out of magnet sheets with my Big Shot and put them on the underside of the largest circle. This helps keep the treats inside while hanging.
The reindeer piece is embossed in white and also has a magnet on the underside.
Lastly, it is tied with our gorgeous Real Red dotted ribbon. All pieces come off so that the recipient can use the muffin pan after the Advent season. You can also adapt the decorations for other occasions (countdown to birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, last day of school, special vacation, driver’s tests). You could even use it for potty training purposes!!!
While most of the materials for the project (muffin tin, ribbon, cardstock, etc.) are easily attainable and affordable, the magnet sheets can be a bit costly and hard to find. I actually used some of my retired Stampin’ Up! magnet sheets. I am so glad I saved them!
I hope you enjoy the project!
