Goodbye, Summer
Tomorrow the kids go back to school – and for the first time in 11 years, I won't be driving to and from school! All three will be taking the bus – the same bus – what will I do with my time???
Fall is my favorite Wisconsin season, but I do wish summer could stay a little while longer. It has been a summer of floods, bugs, and humidity! We've managed a few fun family events, but time raced by so quickly!
To savor the last day of summer, here is one of the cards my customers made at Technique Tuesday last week. It features the Summer Mini Catalog stamp set Sweet Treats – one of my favorites:
This card format is called the Side Step. A bit intricate, but so much fun! Colors used include Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, and Crumb Cake ink. To get the three colors of ice cream, the bottom was Tangerine Tango, the middle was Pumpkin Pie, and the top was a second-generation stamping of Pumpkin Pie. Did you know you can use your inkpad for more than one color? Once you ink your stamp, stamp it once, and then before reinking, stamp again (and sometimes again) for a lighter, less intense color.
Goodbye, summer….until next year!
