Usually, when making Halloween cards, I tend towards using oranges, purples, and greens in my creations.  I found a background in my background stash (yes, I actually have this on my stamping table), and I thought of a dark creepy night.   The background was created using Night of Navy refills brayered on glossy card stock.   I stamped the Midnight Raven stamp right on top with Night of Navy ink!  Loved it right away!  Then, I looked at some of my leftover pieces of Nite Owl DSP from a previous stamp camp.  I turned it over, and there was the Edgar Allan Poe byline.  PERFECT!   Here is the end result:
