Welcome to the blog of Jane Hignite, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Up, Up, and Away!

Welcome!  This weekend I am featuring two items from the Occasions Mini Catalog – the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the Build a Cupcake Punch!  I have made many cupcake projects with these two items – but I love creating out-of-the-box samples!  Here are two items I showcased at a workshop I did last night – a birthday card and a 6 x 6 scrapbook page.

Create a Cupcake Hot Air Balloon Card

Create a Cupcake Hot Air Balloon Scrapbook Page

To make the hot air balloon, I used Real Red textured cardstock, So Saffron cardstock, hemp, crimper, Build a Cupcake punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, Small Heart punch, crimper, and Stampin' Dimensionals.  Be sure to place the Stampin' Dimensionals on top of the hemp – it helps secure them!  The "clouds" are made from the frosting section of the Build a Cupcake punch and sponged with Marina Mist ink.  On the scrapbook page, I distress the edges of the photo section with our distressing tool.

Jane, you are really clever.  I have put off ordering this punch and stamp set because, I unfortunately, do not think "outside the box" very well.  But I love your cad and your scrapbook page.  I may have to re-think my thoughts about not getting these items.  Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

What a cool idea.  I had already though of the frosting as clouds.  But I did not see the Balloon basket using the cupcake part.  I believe there is a stamp with dots in that same set, if so it could be used to make rain drops on a card.
