Thank you for hopping today with us, “Hopping Just for the Fun of it”. The theme of this blog hop is Fall and Halloween projects. If you are hopping along with us, you came from Stop #9,Kris Kilkenny's blog – Paper Fairy .
Today's card features the witch's hat from Jack of All Trades. When I first looked at this stamp set in the catalog, I knew I had to make a Harry Potter themed card from it! This is my Sparkly Sorting Hat card.
Last month, I taught my stampers how to do the double-dip embossing technique. It is a great way to add some sparkle to your embossing! I added a small amount of Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder to my Black Embossing Powder. Be sure to mix well.
To create the black swirls (or dementor effect), all I did was rub some StazOn on my glossy white card stock. The "spooky" phrase comes from the Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set!
The month of October is filled with fun reasons to stamp – be sure to check out my monthly listing at the top of my blog. Today is World Card-Making Day! Stampin' Up!'s October special is perfect for those looking for quick and easy card-making projects. Purchase two Simply-Sent card kits to receive the coordinating stamp set for FREE!

October is my Stampin' Up! anniversary. This year, I'm celebrating my 11th year as a demonstrator – a job I truly LOVE. I am offering 5 different specials to my customers throughout the month of October – the first one is 11% off any punch in the catalog! (I'm hosting a Fall and Winter Holiday Punch Class this Tuesday.) This special is available through October 9th.
The next stop on the Blog Hop is Amanda Harbison's blog, Life Is…. I am sure you will enjoy her project this month. If you should happen to get lost anywhere thru the hop, you can go to the main blog, Hopping Just for the Fun of It.

I just love the whimsy of this card, Jane–and those stazon swoops are the finishing touch!
Oh Jane you did a wonderful job on this card!!!
Love your card! I love to "double dip" my embossing powders, gives them such a nice shimmer. The "sorting hat" is what I thought of too when I saw this set. LOL!

Such a cute idea!
Great card! Thanks for explaining how to do the Double Dip Embossing. I haven't heard of that before and I love to teach new techniques. Although, I think I may have done something like that on accident before. Happy 11 year anniversary with SU!
Love your Harry Potter card! Very clever.
I am so excited. I got this card in the Fall Rockers swap and now I know how you did it.
Thanks for the fun.
