VC Rocks July Blog Hop – Daydream Medallions Extras!
I am so excited to be part of the VC Rocks Blog Hop this month. We are sharing gift and non-card projects. You probably came from June Reister's blog – www.junescreations.blogspot.com . If you ever get lost along the way, you can always start at the beginning – www.vcrocks.blogspot.com
One of the stamp sets I ordered for my Sale-A-Bration rewards this year was Daydream Medallions. It was one of the most expensive stamp sets in the catalog. Here is the stamp set (it does come with 2 stamp boxes):
This is a great set all by itself, but did you know there are EXTRA parts? Be careful when you are mounting your stamp set – save all the extra rubber die cuts. Why you ask?
See those larger three stamps? They each came with a diecut inside that easily pops out. Lovely, perfect circles. DO NOT THROW THESE OUT! Instead, find some extra blocks and mount those circles.
I have used these circles more than the actual Daydream Medallions stamp set.
One of the new stamp sets from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog is Googly Ghouls. I knew I had to have it! I created a fun little gift tag for a spooktacular treat:
I used Wisteria Wonder card stock and stamped the circles in Wisteria Wonder as well. I used the Labels Collection Framelits with my Big Shot for the tag. Then I embossed the Frankenstein, bat, and booo phrase in a mixture of Black and Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I covered the top of the beaker with the new ribbon in the Holiday Catalog attached the tag with white Baker's Twine. I popped up that little bat with a Stampin' Dimensional. Here's a close-up of the tag:
Another project I created with those fabulous circles is this recipe scrapbook page:
This is the punch I serve at my annual Catalog Pick-Up Party. It is a crowd pleaser to be sure. The wine glass stamp is from the new Embellished Events stamp set, and the "cheers!" stamp is from the new Happy Hour stamp set (another favorite of mine).
I hope you've enjoyed this stop on the blog hop. Karen Gibson's blog – www.kraftingwithkaren.blogspot.com – is your next stop. Enjoy!

Jul 20, 2012 - 11:07:49wow Jane great tips, and wonderful projects. You never disappoint!
Thanks for the tips Jane, cute little project!
Jane, I kept my "insides" also! Great examples using them. The Halloween treat is so cute!
Jane, loved your projects and the sneak peak of the googlie eyes and stamp set. Also thanks for sharing there are "extra" pieces to that stamp set!
Beautiful projects. What a great idea to use the circles. I wasn't sure I was going to get this set… now I'm tempted, because you've just doubled it's value.
Jane, these are both fantastic! That beaker is so stinkin' cute, and that punch sounds yummy. Do you think it would turn out ok if I used ginger ale instead of champagne? Thanks for the tip about the stamp set, too! That one will be coming to me this week!
What great projects. I just love your tag with Frankstein and the bats, oh so cute!!!! Thanks for sharing such awesome tips about the stamp set. I probably would have thrown the extra parts away. Now I know to be more careful.
new to SU! Where do you get the extra blocks?
Some really cute projects. I love the Halloween set.
Great tips….I don't think I have this set….going to have to get it
Great ideas, Jane. Thanks for sharing. I have this set on my shelf, waiting to get inky!
Thanks for the fantastic tip on the Daydream Medallions set. I plan to do that. Loved the beaker project! TFS!
Great job and that punch sounds yummy. I will be over for some soon. Just please make it without the Asti… I get even goofier if I drink.

Great great great projects
Thanks for the great tip! Thankfully I hadn't used my set yet, so I still have the circles! Love your card and the little Halloween treat! You show us such great projects! TFS!
Years ago, I had a customer who liked clear stamps. Before we had the clear option, she’d take our stamps and use them with her system and gave me her blocks. I’m still using them! You could also use extra SAB stamp sets or look online.
