Wacky Wednesday – Rainbow Fish Punch Art
The new catalog is filled with amazing new items including some fabulous new punches. However, as punch art fills my creative mojo, Stampin’ Up! did retire some of my go-to punches this May. I had my first punch class scheduled even before I truly thought it through. Oh my, did I struggle for a while. Sometimes you just have to stop second-guessing yourself and start playing!
The final card for my stamp camp proved to actually be the easiest card to make AND used four NEW punches! That was truly a blessing! Plus, it used some of the new In Colors – Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, and Peekaboo Peach. Bermuda Bay was a perfect addition to the color scheme.
I used the new Swirly Scribbles framelits for the seaweed. Loved how easy that was! The greeting is from our Greatest Greetings stamp set, and it is punched out with the new Classic Label punch.
The fish is created with the Best Badge punch for the body (one full punched piece in Peekaboo Peach, and then just a third of the top part of the punch in Peekaboo Peach, Glimmer Paper, and Bermuda Bay). The fins are created with the medium leaf from the Blossom Builder punch in Bermuda Bay. His mouth is actually a cut piece from a swirl from the Sprinkles punch in Basic Black. (Thanks Melissa Cook for that improvement!) His eye is a metal-rimmed pearl with a sharpie marker center. Be sure to use Stampin’ Dimensionals on the body!
The trio of starfish are flowers from the Blossom Builder punch with a pearl in the middle.
I love this little guy – and so on trend with the new Finding Dory film this summer!
