Welcome to the blog of Jane Hignite, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Technique Tuesday – Washi Tape Peekaboo Window

I am so grateful to celebrate SEVEN YEARS on this blog.  I’ve had www.stampwithjane.com for seven years.  Thank you to all who visit and check out my website whether it be for inspiration, monthly holidays, or gosh forbid, by mistake!

I am going to celebrate this occasion all week.  I am promising you a new card every day.  Read through this whole blog post for a way you can help me celebrate.

Today is Tuesday, usually a stamping night, but I’ve got the night off.  It always feels a little strange when it is 6:30 pm at my house, and the doorbell isn’t ringing on a Tuesday.  Actually, tonight, a stamper did stop by right around that time.  I found that kind of funny.  Thanks for stopping by, Linda!

In July, I taught my stampers the Washi Tape Peekaboo Window technique.  It is actually very simple.  You only need scissors, an assortment of washi tape, stampin’ dimensionals, colored and Whisper White card stock, and stamps/ink.

Here is what we made:

  1. Cut the colored card stock and Whisper White card stock the same width, but the Whisper White can be about a 1/2″ – 1″ shorter in length.
  2. Cut the card stock in an interesting design (but not too intricate), dividing the card stock.
  3. If you plan on stamping, stamp now.
  4. Plan how far apart you want the colored card stock.
  5. Put small pieces of washi tape on the section of white card stock where it will show.
  6. Attach dimensionals on colored card stock and attach to white card stock.
  7. Trim white card stock if necessary.
  8. Layer on a card base.

That’s it.  Really easy and fun – and a great way to use up washi tape.

Ok, now that you’ve read through all of this, I have a little contest to run.  Comment below and I will enter all entries into a drawing for a new Stampin’ Up! accessory!   Drawing will be held on  Sunday, August 14th.  I will contact the winner for their address.

Keep watching my blog this week for more opportunities to WIN!

Thanks for all of your support throughout the years!  You are ALL too kind!

Thanks for such a neat technique. I’m excited to try this with the little bits of washi tape I have left from various rolls.
