Dasher Short Graduated Accordian Fold Technique
It is easy to get stuck in a creative rut…many crafters have a difficult time moving away from tried and true formats, colors, and even stamp sets! Ok, I don't think my Dasher stamp set EVER leaves my stamping table during the holidays, but I wanted to show my stampers a unique fold for Christmas cards.
I learned this fold technique from Pat Huntoon/Technique Junkies! I taught my stampers this technique at our November Technique Tuesday class. They LOVED it!
Here are some basic instructions for this card:
- Measure 3 inches on the short edge of the 8-1/2” x 10-1/2” card stock and make a pencil mark.
- Measure 5-1/2” along the opposite site and make a second pencil mark.
- With paper trimmer, cut from one mark to the other, resulting in a diagonal across your paper.
- Score the card stock at 3-1/2” and 7” horizontally.
- Fold your card stock along the score lines (valley fold, then a mountain fold).
- Make inserts for the layers using the same method – just cut off ¼” inch off the bottom and one side.
- Use die cut for Scallop with Real Red card stock.
- Stamp Dasher image on Very Vanilla; punch out with 2-1/2" Circle Punch and sponge edges with Soft Suede.
- Attach Dasher piece to Real Red scallop and attach with adhesive on the bottom only and place on top section.
- Stamp Merry Christmas in Soft Suede on front.
- Stamp pine tree from Lovely as a Tree in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla slanted piece. Add phrase in Real Red.
- Attach slanted piece to back and then use paper piercing tool to add brads.
