Vintage Vogue – Faux Tearing
Vintage Vogue is a new Stampin’ Up! stamp set that I adore! It has an innate shabby chic feel. At my Technique Tuesday class this week, I demonstrated the faux tearing technique. VERY EASY and a wonderful way to add dimension and texture without adding cardstock. I’ll be using this technique often!
Create a large piece with a torn edge – this is your mask for your noncolored piece. Place the cardstock underneath it – you may want to secure it with removable adhesive. Using a sponge brayer or a sponge, cover the cardstock with a coordinating ink. If you plan on stamping on the torn piece, do it now. You can use stamps and ink or a wheel like I did here. I like the contrast of the Night of Navy ink on the Old Olive-colored torn edge. Remove the mask. Finish your card!
Don’t you love the faux button too?
The color is somehow washed out a bit in the picture – I used Night of Navy ink and card stock, Mellow Moss card stock and ribbon, and Old Olive ink (for brayering the torn section).
