Welcome to the blog of Jane Hignite, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Flipping Out for My Stamper’s 10 Group

Throughout my almost 13 years as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I’ve been blessed with some fabulous Stamper’s 10 Groups.  This year’s group started last week, and I wanted to show something summery and fun to start off the our journey!

So for our first project, my stampers created Flip Flop Tops.  Here is what my sample looked like before:

Flip Flops Unadorned

I just picked these flip flops up at the dollar store.  With basic supplies like Fun Foam (Melon Mambo Pink and Sparkly Silver), a hot glue gun, and some large gems, we created Flip Flop Tops using the Fun Flowers Big Shot Die and Mr. Big Shot!

Flip Flops Adorned

Aren’t they FABULOUS???  You could also make headband toppers, pins, or even purse accents!  Speaking of purses, some of my fellow 31 Gifts consultants are on their way to Atlanta for convention!  Woo Hoo, ladies!  Have a great time!  Can’t wait to see what’s new!

I’ve been known to say…”If I could sleep with my Big Shot, I would.”   I LOVE OUR BIG SHOT.  It makes even the newbie crafter look like a professional!

Modern Mosaic Embossed Clear Box Gift Holder

At my hostess appreciation event this spring, my wonderful hostesses made this sweet make and take.

2013 Hostess App Chalk Talk Embossed Box

First we used the Mosaic Madness embossing folder to emboss the clear box.  It is so striking in real life.  Inside the box was a heart-shaped chocolate-covered cookie. We added little pink shreds and tied it with Primrose Petals ribbon. We attached the tag with Baker's Twine. The phrase is from Chalk Talk, one of the new stamp sets in the catalog, and it is mounted on the new Artisan Label punch.

The ladies loved the make and take.  They can reuse the box after eating the yummy cookie!

Valentine’s Day Photo Frame

At one of my events this winter, my customers came to pick up the new catalogs (spring and SAB).  This was the make and take they created that evening:

Calendar Flip Photo Frame

This was SUPER easy, but so versatile.  You can still get the flip photo case (DESKTOP DISPLAY CALENDAR CASE-#127033-$1.95) from me.  The Valentine insert was created with Big Shot items and our new Delicate Details Lace Tape.  Sadly, the Happy Valentine's Day phrase is no longer available, but you can certainly find another heart or image in our fabulous catalogs!

What I really love about these cases is you can always change up what you are displaying since you can insert a new piece anytime!  I'll be using this idea throughout the year and sharing my creations on my blog.

Share the love…today and every day!

Big Shot Embossed Card and Card Holder Gift Set

Welcome to the first 2011 VC Rocks Bloghop…you've most likely arrived here from the home page – www.vcrocks.blogspot.com .  I am stop number 1!

The theme of this blog hop is using our BIG SHOT MADNESS.  The Big Shot has to be my favorite tool – it never leaves my stamping table!  The embossing folders are simple to use yet always striking in any project.

This week marked the end of the school year…so it was time to make some teacher thank you gifts.  My dear sister, Mary Jo, is an elementary school teacher and advises me on what teachers like/don't like for gifts.  She always raves about receiving my handmade cards so I think I have a winner in this project.

Elegant Lines Embossed Card Front 2

This simple yet elegant card used the Elegant Lines embossing folder, Naturals White card stock, Marina Mist 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (which is retiring), scissors, the Just Believe stamp set, Old Olive and Marina Mist inkpads, and the Extra-Large Oval and Decorative Label punches.

I used the leaf stamp and inked up with Old Olive, but first stamped off once.  I then stamped the thank you stamp "full strength" in Marina Mist.

For my gifts, I created 5 cards with matching envelopes (yes, I embossed the back flaps too – gorgeous!).  I then embossed an acetate card box and created a tag using our new Perfect Pennants die (it's probably my favorite item in the upcoming catalog) and the 1-3/4" circle punch.   I also used some retired silver stretch cord to attach the tag.

Here is the back of the box ~

If you can't go (or even if you can) to convention, you can get your "stampin' mojo fix" with challenges, swaps, and discussions! I have "met' many fabulous stamping demos and nondemos through this group.

8th Grade Night Project for Athletes

I was responsible to create a special project for our 8th Grade athletes last week.  Here is what I came up with.  The glass containers were filled with blue shimmering crinkle and white crinkle filler as well as candy.  My BIG SHOT and dies and Decor Elements Vinyl were instrumental in this project.

My eldest son, Steven, is on the front right of the picture.  Each family provided a picture of the 8th-grade athlete from their K3/K4/K5 years to provide contrast to how much they’ve changed throughout the years.  It’s hard to believe they’re reaching the end of their grade-school years.
