Owl Valentine Inlaid Embossing Folder Technique

It's time to put away the Christmas stamping supplies and move on to the next year!
 
At last month's Technique Tuesday class, I taught my customers the inlaid embossing folder technique.  This was one of my samples:

Isn't this sweet?  The technique is really easy!  Here are the technique instructions:
 
Supplies
Big Shot/Platform/Standard Cutting Pads
Card Stock
Embossing Folder (I used the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.)
Punches
Adhesive
 
  • Punch pieces out and adhere to piece of card stock.
  • Run card stock through Big Shot with an Embossing Folder.
  • Mat and embellish as desired.
Hints
Polka Dot Embossing Folder works with anything!!!!
 
Smaller embossed image folder works the best.
 
Different color combinations can be fun too!

Halloween Owl Punched Art Slider Card

This card was a big hit at my recent Stamper's 10 Meeting and Technique Tuesday Stamp Class.  The new Owl Punch is stinkin' cute and fun to use!  The tiny Basic Pearls are perfect to use as eyeballs!

Supplies
Halloween Hoot/Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Sets
Early Espresso/Concord Crush/Pear Pizzazz/Brushed Silver/Whisper White Card Stock
Concord Crush DSP
Concord Crush Inkpad
Scoring Tool with Measuring Guide
White Grosgrain Ribbon/Basic Pearls
5-Petal Flower Punch/1-3/4" Circle Punch/Wide Oval Punch/Modern Label Punch/Word Window Punch
CropADile
Monoadhesive/Stampin' Dimensionals
 
CS Pieces
            (1) 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Early Espresso
            (2) 5-1/4” x 3-3/4” front layer Concord Crush
    inside outer layer Concord Crush
            (1) 5” x 3-1/2” inside inner layer Whisper White
            Scraps of Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso, Brushed Silver, Whisper White
 
Score the 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” piece at 2” and 6”. Fold and glue down one side to the other. Set aside.
 
With one of the long scraps, cut and shape like a tree trunk.
Cut another shape like a branch. 
Adhere trunk to far left side – shimmy the branch under
the trunk – leave at least 2” from the top of the CCrush CS.
Punch out 1-3/4” moon with brushed silver card stock. 
Adhere right on top of the branch.
Punch out 2 flowers in Pear Pizzazz. Cut petals to make leaves.
Layer them on top of the branch.
Punch out owl body and medium circles in Early Espresso.
Punch out vest and heart in CCrush DSP. 
Punch out large circles in Whisper White. Create your owl! 
Use gel pen for his eyes. Save hearts for phrase.
Pop up owl with Stampin’ Dimensionals/place on top of leaves.
Punch oval in PPizzazz, modern label in EEspresso
Stamp phrase from Teeny Tiny Wishes in CCrush on WW.
Punch w/ window punch. Mount pieces/add 2 hearts. 
Add basic pearl for accent. Mount to EEspresso folded card.
Measure 2” for the middle of the top section. Punch with CropADile.
Insert ribbon. Stamp inside with CCrush. Mount inside pieces.
Push layer on top of ribbon until the card is hidden. Tie bow.
You should be able to slide inside layer up and down.
 
Punch a hole with the CropADile in the center about a ½” down from the top. 
 
Insert ribbon and push down with inner layer.
 
Tie a bow and pull to side card.
 
This is a great card for an invitation, announcement, or even Christmas photo card!!!
