SUDSOL Blog Tour

Today I am featured in the SUDSOL New Catalog Blog Tour!  SUDSOL (Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing Online) is a fabulous resource for demonstrators, and this group of stampers is so willing to share their business ideas, creative projects, and support.  SUDSOL is especially wonderful if you don't have a local or involved upline.  I have been a member of SUDSOL since 2002 – and it is the email group I turn to for 100% of my business questions.  You must be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator to join this group, and there is a fee to join, but this group will boost your confidence and business ability like no other on the web!  Plus, there are so many ways to earn FREE membership – why not take the 2-week trial and check it out for yourself!  Be sure to use me – Jane Hignite – as your referral!!!

Thanksgiving falls right around my birthday…in fact, I was born the morning after Thanksgiving.  Fall has always been my favorite time of year, especially with the gorgeous changing colors of Wisconsin treelines.

My samples today reflect my favorite season!

Sample 1 – Shattered Glass Lovely as a Tree Thanksgiving Card

lovely-as-a-tree-shattered-glass-sudsol-blog-2

The first sample uses one of my customers' favorite stamp sets – Lovely as a Tree.  The technique used is shattered glass.

Supplies

  • Lovely as a Tree/Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Sets
  • Natural White/Cajun Craze Card Stock
  • Pumpkin Pie/Cajun Craze Inkpad
  • Sponge Brayer
  • Quilters Tape
  • Antique Brad/Paper Piercing Tool

Instructions

  1. Make several strips of the quilters tape.  Before placing on the stamping layer, take off the excess stickiness by placing it on and off your clothes a few times.
  2. If you want, you can tear off the edges of the tape for a different effect.
  3. Layer the strips in an interesting pattern.  Be sure to leave some space open for stamping.
  4. Ink up the sponge brayer with Pumpkin Pie ink.
  5. Brayer over the entire large piece.  Then brayer over small piece of cardstock (should be lighter).
  6. Ink stamps in Cajun Craze and stamp inside sections.  Be sure to stamp on top of the tape too for the desired look of shattered glass.
  7. Carefully lift off the tape from the cardstock.
  8. Stamp smaller piece with the leaf and phrase.
  9. Mount small pieces and add brad.
  10. Mount remaining pieces.
