For the Birds – Support Alphabet Card

When I look at the color blue, I think of my sister Mary Jo.  She’s always been drawn to the color blue.  She’s been such a support to me this year as I ventured into re-entering the workforce.  Thanks, MJ!

For the Birds – Pennant Punch Window Card

I held a Crazy About the Pennant Punch Stamp Camp this month.  This was probably my favorite card of the bunch.  I just love those little birdies splashing in the water.

Now, I don’t have Wisteria Wonder curtains, but they were so pretty with the Soft Sky layer!

Christmas in July Skating Bird Card

One of my WOW cards from last year's Christmas Card stamp camp featured the cute skating bird from the For the Birds stamp camp.  The background was actually pretty easy to do using sticky notes, inkpads, and sponge daubers.  The key is to start burnishing the sponged area off the card stock and gradually move in.  This way you really have a softer touch on the landscape and less chance for obvious dots.  Lovely as a Tree is a great stamp for landscapes!  The Shimmery White card stock adds just a bit of sparkle too!

For The Birds Word Window Latch Card

At my Technique Tuesday class this month, I taught my customers how to make a Word Window Punch latch card.

Here's how you do it:

  1. Cut your card stock at 4-1/4" along the short end.
  2. Fold card stock in half.
  3. Take the BOTTOM of the base card and find the center of the short side of the card stock.  Make a small pencil mark at this point about 1/4" above the edge of the card stock.
  4. Punch out a Word Window with the small pencil mark in the center.
  5. On the FRONT piece of the base card, punch out a PARTIAL Word Window on each side just at the edge (you'll use about 3/4 of the punch).
  6. Decorate card to finish!

I used our fabulous Stitched Satin Ribbon – which you can get for FREE this month with a $40 order!
