Jill’s Baby Shower Card

Last week, one of my coworkers asked me to create a special baby shower card. Her daughter-in-law’s shower was going to be held in Wisconsin, but the mother-to-be lives in California. The shower hostess requested all gifts be shipped to California, but include a message or picture of what will be sent inside the baby shower card. So not only did Jill want me to create a special card, but a purposeful card as well.

To be honest, I don’t often create special-order cards, but I certainly didn’t want to let Jill down.

Most of my project includes RETIRED Stampin’ Up! products…WAITING FOR THE RIGHT PROJECT STORAGE comes to my rescue again.

Basically, the card is a gatefold card with a hidden message section.

#1.  Basic gatefold design – Used Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, and Something Borrowed DSP.

#2  Closed card without embellishments

#3.  Gift scan mounted on Top Note Die used as the “hidden message”  (Pink Pirouette)

#4.  Inside piece – front section of “hidden message” Top Note.  Used Something for Baby stamp set, Circle Framelits, pearls, twine for hair, bow punch from Cookie Cutter punch, 1/4″ circle punch for face.

#5  Back section of hidden message cover.  Love our new adhesive strips!  Keeps the Top Note from sliding down.

#6.  Inside panel with hidden message cover and Top Note message attached.

#7.  Finished card with tag  (Jill used the tag for another item) made with Stitched Framelits.  Sweet Essentials Stamp Set for the baby phrase.

#8.  My final card and the baby shower invitation.  Even I surprised myself at how closely I matched the designs.

Jill squealed in delight when I handed over the card creation.  It was the talk of the lunch table, and I heard it was adored at the shower.

Glad to be of service, Jill.  You definitely jumpstarted my stampin’ mojo.
