Thanksgiving falls right around my birthday…in fact, I was born the morning after Thanksgiving. Fall has always been my favorite time of year, especially with the gorgeous changing colors of Wisconsin treelines.
My samples today reflect my favorite season!
Sample 1 – Shattered Glass Lovely as a Tree Thanksgiving Card
The first sample uses one of my customers' favorite stamp sets – Lovely as a Tree. The technique used is shattered glass.
Supplies
- Lovely as a Tree/Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Sets
- Natural White/Cajun Craze Card Stock
- Pumpkin Pie/Cajun Craze Inkpad
- Sponge Brayer
- Quilters Tape
- Antique Brad/Paper Piercing Tool
Instructions
- Make several strips of the quilters tape. Before placing on the stamping layer, take off the excess stickiness by placing it on and off your clothes a few times.
- If you want, you can tear off the edges of the tape for a different effect.
- Layer the strips in an interesting pattern. Be sure to leave some space open for stamping.
- Ink up the sponge brayer with Pumpkin Pie ink.
- Brayer over the entire large piece. Then brayer over small piece of cardstock (should be lighter).
- Ink stamps in Cajun Craze and stamp inside sections. Be sure to stamp on top of the tape too for the desired look of shattered glass.

I always host a Christmas in July stamp camp, which is a customer favorite. This year, one of the popular cards at the event was my Punched Art Reindeer Card. This card showed off the new Cherry Cobbler card stock, the Early Espresso card stock and ink, Jolly Holiday DSP, and even the new OWL punch. I also used the brand-new stamp set WORD PLAY. There are so many wonderful phrases in that stamp set! This is the card we created!! Isn't he cute?
